This wetland area is especially valuable because it's relatively untouched by mass tourism, making it a peaceful haven for eco-lovers, researchers, and conservationists. The region is known for its rich biodiversity, hosting:

  • Over 29 species of mangrove trees

  • More than 135 species of birds, including migratory and endangered ones like the lesser adjutant stork

  • Endangered marine life such as river terrapins, painted terrapins, and horseshoe crabs

  • The critically endangered green sea turtle, which nests along nearby beaches
